The treatment of atrophic jaws is always a challenge for surgeons and prosthodontists. In this presentation we reflect on how to solve both problems in a predictable, evidence-based and minimally invasive manner.
Objectives:
• To understand the biomechanics of a complete rehabilitation.
• To assess the influence of implant length and diameter.
• Understand the importance of prosthesis design, and of the connection of the prosthesis to the implant for proper periodontal maintenance.

1. Doctor of Surgery and Stomatology from the University of Salamanca. Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Valencia. Honorary Doctorate (Doctor Honoris Causa) from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).
2. Combines scientific research as the **Scientific Director of BTI Biotechnology Institute** with private clinical practice, while also serving as the Director of the **University Institute of Regenerative Medicine and Oral Implantology** at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and as President of the foundation bearing his name. Since 2024, he has been a Full Member of the **Royal Academy of Medicine of the Basque Country**.
3. Holds **64 international patents**, is the author of over **350 scientific articles** published in indexed journals, several hundred more in clinical journals, as well as **30 books and surgical manuals** in various fields of medicine. His scientific productivity and quality are reflected in his **H-index of 78** and more than **29,000 accumulated citations**.
4. The **Stanford Ranking** has consistently recognized Anitua as the **most influential Spanish dentist in the world** since 2019, currently ranking **49th globally**.
